Chapter 613: Chapter 607: I Can’t Learn Even When Drunk

Surrounding the spaceship were meteorites of various sizes, some larger than the spaceship itself, but most were roughly the same size, densely populating the space above, below, and all around.

“The spaceship’s teleportation to the outer realms of the Death Nest is complete. All crew members take note, minimize movement, we may need to evade at any moment,” the main control system’s voice rang out again.

After some thought, Finn Lewis put on his own coat and walked out. Upon arrival, he felt an odd sense, his connection with Keller and the others seemed vague. He could sense their presence, but his mind kept telling him that they were too far away to reach.

However, Finn could definitely sense the presence of the Insect Species, nothing more.

“Zero, deposit a spore on the largest accessible meteorite nearby,” Finn immediately took command.

“Confirmed,” Zero responded. Finn quickly perceived a new Insect unit appearing within his range of senses. When in the presence of Keller and the rest, Finn had never sensed the spores before. It wasn’t that the spores lacked functionality but rather that Keller and the others appeared too vivid in his mind, diminishing the spores’ signals.

But now, as the sense of Keller and the others weakens, the spores’ signals intensify. Finn found one to his left and behind, moving further away from him. Confirming its location, he ceased to care. Casting a broad net was his sole purpose of leaving a spore here.

Finn came prepared on this trip, besides the tiny parasite that was even smaller than a human pinky finger, he brought with him a thousand spores, which consumed significant energy.

Having the opportunity to venture out, Finn believed he needed to expand his reach in the galaxy. Exclusive breeding near Earth might be problematic because he had to remain hidden. He knew that both the Flame Nation and the North Federation had decent detection tools, able to detect Insect Units in flight and dodge radar signals.

However, those Insect units on the ground couldn’t avoid these signals. Furthermore, they couldn’t be optically invisible. Thus, for large-scale expansion, it’s better to settle in a remote galaxy far from Earth. Only then could he expand as he wished.

At least before being discovered by extraterrestrial nations like the Galactic Federation, his Insect species would have gained enough self-defensive capabilities—so they weren’t obliterated in one fail swoop. Anyway, as long as the species survives, they would always have chances to overcome adversity…

Once he left his room, Finn, under the guidance of the Bloody Peach Blossom, headed for the third floor of the spaceship occupied by the entertainment hall. Every recreational facility aboard the spaceship was located here. For a spaceship of its size, its recreational facilities could match those in a city.

Fundamentally, anything you could find in a city, you could also find here. When Finn arrived at the third floor, he didn’t head towards the entertainment facilities but walked to the viewing hall instead. Below the spaceship’s command center was a hall with a panoramic view of the space outside.

As Finn entered, his eyes were immediately captivated by the wide view. Upon looking up, he saw meteorites densely filling the surroundings. Yet the path they were traveling along was the only passage free of meteorites. It was as if a tunnel-like area appeared devoid of meteorites in this belt densely encrusted with them on every side.

This was clearly done intentionally. Finn had no clue about their destination, but he was sure it wasn’t within the Galactic Federation’s controlled region. Otherwise, it wouldn’t be necessary to locate this place within such a meteorite belt. A spot on a planet in the distant three-star system would have sufficed.

The spaceship wasn’t moving at an excessive pace, but it wasn’t slow either. After approximately an hour of travel, with an endless array of meteorites in sight, they finally arrived at a man-made structure at the end of their tunnel within the meteorite belt. It was a triangular structure, moderately sized, adorned with intricate patterns.

Just as Finn was guessing what that thing was, the triangle started emanating a faint blue light. The three edges began expanding, and as they expanded outwards, the three sides extended rapidly. As the three edges gradually separated, the center with all its patterns split apart.

Within this split, a faint blue corridor appeared. Seeing this corridor reminded Finn of the special passage opened during the spaceship’s earlier teleportation. The only difference was that the earlier passage was opened directly by the spaceship’s teleportation engine, whereas this one appeared to be a fixed teleportation corridor, directly entered by the spaceship.

Finn’s hypothesis was proven right. The spaceship didn’t come to a halt and proceeded straight into the corridor. As a gleam flashed across their vision, it felt as though they had teleported from one place to another. However, the scenery hadn’t changed and he instinctively looked towards the three distant stars.

The stars had indeed shifted their positions, but it also proved that this teleportation didn’t leave the enormous meteorite belt. It was merely a few tens of millions of kilometers away, a relatively short distance for interstellar travel.

“Your Highness, what a pleasant surprise to see you here,” came the voice of Jasmine Davis. Finn had known she was coming long before she arrived. For some reason, after focusing on Jasmine once, he had a natural sense of her approaching within a few dozen meters.

Finn didn’t know where this change came from, but he had a hunch that it must be related to the sense of mental connection brought on by his Insect units. Otherwise, according to Zero’s assessment, his intelligence level wouldn’t have escalated so quickly.

“Feeling’s mutual, Captain Davis. You seem to be enjoying yourself too,” Finn responded with a nod.

“Please, don’t call me Captain Davis. I don’t care much for that title. Call me by my name, or Bloody Peach Blossom,” Jasmine Davis said with a gentle smile.
