Chapter 2188 – Spacetime-suspending Swords
An invisible shockwave came slamming down from above, instantly spreading across the bloodline hairfiend’s body. Its finer blood vessels were instantly turned into mush, making quite an impressive sight!
“What the?” Lin Huan shot Tianming a look of envy. “Your wife is really something!”
“It’s none of your business, now move aside.” Tianming charged into Perpetia with his sword split in two. Tianming knew what the Cicada Blast was like. During special circumstances, he had instructed Feiling to use that ability. She could make her Heptaskill Cicadawings move and stop at will, generating shockwaves with incredible accuracy, though actually seeing it in practice seemed to distract him somewhat.
“Come, foul beast! Surrender thy life for those that you claimed!” Lin Huan charged ahead of Tianming with surprising agility despite his chubby stature. The light from his swordbeasts shot out from his blade and slashed into the bloodline hairfiend, who, slowed down by the temporal effects of Perpetia, was completely taken off guard! Huge amounts of black blood poured out of its open wound, from which more claws and fangs sprang toward Lin Huan.
“Holy crap! That isn’t good!” Lin Huan bounced away like a human meatball.
“Useless!” Tianming used Lin Huan’s head as a springboard to jump as he charged up the swords in his hands. “The compression of space and the speed of time….” He felt it at this moment. Within Perpetia, his swords were much more powerful than usual as Feiling accelerated his strikes and compressed the space around the monster.
“Die!”
The golden sword in his right hand seemed like a fish swimming in a stream of time, moving with the flow. Grandvoid Compendium, Delayed Capture! It was far too quick! The sword, infused with Flint Infernal Impulse, pierced into the monster of a heart, and during the entire process, the bloodline hairfiend made no reaction. Then the Flint Infernal Impulse exploded, leaving behind a gigantic, sword-shaped hole and making countless other bleeding holes nearby.
Those in the Swordsoul Chamber were shocked to see such an artful sword strike. Even without being infused with order, that move was enough to make all clan disciples go wild. Yet that wasn’t the end! Not even Lin Huan was able to match the speed of Tianming’s attacks.
Next came the Xiaozhi Sword Art, Unistrike Singularity! Tianming’s black arm, which held the black sword, was the real heavyweight, striking right after the golden sword pierced the beast. While Tianming’s astralforce couldn’t compare to the sheer energy the monster possessed, he did have a lot of support from Perpetia.
The Unisword Goddess had been born for slaughter, and her strike carried immense force. While Tianming’s sword was relatively small, compared to the bloodline hairfiend, everyone could see the monster being rapidly compressed at the moment of the strike. No matter how hard it tried, it wasn’t able to resist at all!
Tianming left yet another hole in the heart-shaped monster. Right after his attack, a vortex seemed to manifest within it, tearing it apart from within and consuming about a third of its mass before it exploded, scattering scraps of flesh all over the place. The bloodline hairfiend had been killed!
“Hahaha! I was the one that killed it!” Lin Huan said, bathed in blood from all the slashing from the sidelines. His attacks had indeed done some damage to the bloodline hairfiend, but it was clear for the seniors in the Swordsoul Chamber to see who really did the monster in with the finishing blow.
The blood of the beast spread all over, stinking up the place.
“Dammit, I didn’t think the bloodline hairfiend would be this weak! Lin Feng, I was just taken aback for a moment and wasn’t at my best. If it weren’t for that, I wouldn’t have needed you to save me! That must be the case, right!” Lin Huan said, laughing heartily.
“Wow, I knew you were thick, but I didn’t know it gave you skin thick enough to be so shameless,” Tianming said, rolling his eyes.
“Impudence! How dare you mock our Brother Piggy?” Lin Huan’s minions immediately voiced their protest.
“Hey! Do any of you still have any semblance of shame? He was the one that saved you, got it?” While Lin Huan could bicker with Tianming, he immediately chewed out his minions for talking down to Tianming. “Apologies. These fellows aren’t disciplined well.”
“It’s no matter.” Tianming looked at the bloodline hairfiend and wondered about the weird purple symbol on the inside of the heart. It looked like a character of some sort written in weird, squiggly strokes. Upon closer inspection, it looked like the character for ‘ebony’.
“Big Brother, are you alright? Ah, you smell quite a bit,” Feiling said before Tianming could ponder over the character. She looked at him and pinched her nose.
“Who cares if I smell? I’m rich! Haha!” He looked at his disciple card and saw two hundred and fifty merit points credited to him for slaying the bloodline hairfiend.
“That looks like a lucky number. Don’t forget that I also took part in that battle,” Feiling said, smiling. Before Tianming had even managed to enjoy his spoils, his wife wanted a cut.
“It really wasn’t killed by me….” Lin Huan slapped his head with a look of regret.
“Shameless,” Tianming said, shooting him a look of disdain.
Lin Huan grit his teeth and slapped the heavy sword in his hand. “Ground Piggy, Sky Piggy, Fish Piggy, Bug Piggy, Flower Piggy, and Giant Piggy, go back to the lifebound space.”
Tianming was completely dumbfounded when he heard those names. Were all of his lifebound beasts pigs? When he finally saw them, he was so shocked that he almost lost control of his bladder from the urge to laugh. All of them were different types of beasts, like fish, insects, birds, and even flowers, but they all had pig heads. Truth was stranger than fiction.
“What are you looking at? Did you fall for my charm?” Lin Huan shyly said.
“Amazing.” Tianming shot him a thumbs-up. So this was the heir of the sixth branch.
“If you hadn’t come to our aid, while I might’ve broken out, my brothers would’ve met their doom. Thank you, Lin Feng. Come visit us at the sixth branch when you’re free. We’ll serve you the finest feast and have beauties lined up for you to pick…. Well, forget that, since I’ve never seen a prettier woman than your missus here!”
“Are you sure? I’m Lin Mu’s son, you know.” Tianming was quite surprised to receive an invitation like that.
“Who cares? It’s always better to look to the future than mull over the past,” he said, flipping his hair in a fashion he believed to be good looking.
“That’s so cringe… I’m gonna puke….” Tianming waved and said, “Get out of my sight. It feels embarrassing to even stand next to you.” As he said that, he turned and looked in another direction.
“Oh? The seniors from the Swordsoul Chamber really took their time getting here,” Lin Huan said, meeting Tianming’s gaze. Nothing further needed to be said.
