Chapter 2073 – Final Killing
Four months passed in a flash. Tianming’s Omnisentient Threads had grown to more than a trillion, and thanks to all that power of faith, he broke through to become a seventh-level solarian. With no real match on the sun, his days were rather peaceful and boring. Thus, he decided he would go to the Astraldome to fight his way straight to the ninth level of the Tranquil Battlefield to see if he could go to the next stage, the Skydome Battlefield. The Tranquil Battlefield was where young geniuses fought, while the Skydome Battlefield was where the real battles happened. There, he could further hone his skills, as well as meet the mysterious person who gave him the spirit core, Godsoul Canon, and the heavenly locus formation.
……
Tianming Capital had been constructed in the past half year. It was a megacity located where the Sky Palace used to be and encompassed a far larger scope than the Myriaddragon Mountains had, and would serve as Tianming’s main base. His family and friends all basically lived there. In contrast, Wudi had another palace constructed for himself at the north pole, but it was currently uninhabited.
Within the capital, Tianming sat in a penthouse on top of a snow-white building, overlooking the gigantic city. Though constructing it hadn’t been a big deal with so much power, making a proper formation cover such a large area was incredibly difficult. As such, the capital itself was rather weak. Only after every single building had been reinforced by a top-level formation would it be well defended, and he looked forward to that day.
“In a few days, we’ll cross the celestial boundary and reach a new battlefield.” He would soon have new challenges and felt rather pumped. “Apart from Qingyu, Feng, and Sixth, it looks like I no longer have any tethers here.” They hadn’t sent him any news at all, and Qingyu hadn’t shown up in the wondersky realm since her previous, glitchy appearance. There was no way he could not worry about it in the slightest. His seventh lifebound beast was already growing, yet the sixth was nowhere to be found. “I wonder if it even has a symbiotic link with me?”
Feiling, Xiaoxiao, and Weisheng Moran seemed to be having quite a bit of fun nearby and Tianming suddenly realized that he had quite a bit of free time. He calmed down and suddenly recalled that he should be training his soul, one of his weaker points.
“Ji Ji is an astral lifeform, and Sixth might have something to do with the Xenoworld, where the soul is really important. If it hadn’t run off, I probably wouldn’t even have to worry about this weakness.” His mind returned to his vita within the foggy sea of consciousness. The Soul Tower was still protecting his vita as usual. He breathed out a long sigh and prepared to start.
“Who’s there?!” Before he could begin, he suddenly had an odd feeling. All he saw was a white fog. It wasn’t part of his soul and couldn’t be controlled, but he could feel another fog within the fog! Qingyu had mentioned that Sixth looked like a sea of white. He looked around anxiously and could feel a pair of invisible eyes staring at him through the cloudiness.
“Sixth, is that you?” Ji Ji’s hatching had taught him that the symbiotic relationship between beastmaster and beast could take the most unconventional of forms. As long as the beasts were incubated within the lifebound space, that link would forever exist between them. Ji Ji didn’t even have a codex, yet its strength was still reliant on Tianming’s own.
Nobody answered his call, but he could feel it within the fog. He didn’t know what form Sixth had taken, but he had a feeling that its main body within the Xenoworld could hear him.
“There’s no need to hide. Just tell me anything you want to say.”
A small cloud really existed within the fog. It formed together before Tianming’s eyes. “Sixth, are you back?!”
“Back to become your slave? Once your consciousness melds with my soul, I’ll be neutered and pathetic like the rest. You want me to become a carefree idiot like them, too, right? Forgive me for not wanting to ingest your mind poison,” rang the sound that reached into his soul. It felt like something had pricked through the Soul Tower, chilling his vita.
“Li Tianming, you’re trying to destroy everything I am. You’re nothing but a mortal, not some higher lifeform. You may have ruined them, but not me. There’s three others, and I’ll take them away from you one day and make you pay the price.” It didn’t even give Tianming any chance to explain before it dissipated in the fog. The cold aura was gone in an instant, and Tianming felt like he had just returned to the world of the living.
“Phew….” He breathed a sigh of relief, though he felt the onset of new troubles. “Every Primordial Chaos Beast has its own will, but Sixth is particularly hard to deal with….” Even so, he wasn’t discouraged. “The fact that it can speak to me proves that it’s at least alive and has a link to me. Let’s see who’ll have the last laugh then. Matching my consciousness with a Primordial Chaos Beast, huh….” Sixth’s words didn’t make him budge much. His relationship with Ying Huo and the rest was a familial one, and he knew that better than anyone. It wasn’t something others could undermine just with a few mean words.
“With so many of us, there’s bound to be one or two that’re somewhat rebellious. Let it roam about outside for now. Soon enough, it’ll learn that home’s the best place to be,” Ying Huo said with a sigh. It also felt troubled, being the eldest sibling, but it was even more pissed that Sixth was completely looking down on it.
……
The pink sun was just one among countless others in the vast sea of stars. It continued advancing, and its might could only be felt up close. Ahead of it was a pitch-black barrier. The sun had been approaching it for quite a while and was about to pass through soon. However, a sudden cluster of waves manifested ahead of it. Then a vortex of darkness appeared, growing larger until a white-haired old man jumped out of it. He was dressed in an elegant robe and his eyes shone white like stars. The radiance from them shot straight toward the sun.
“It’s this one! The aura of the xenofiend king is here.” He held a purple eyeball in his hand that turned around and observed the sun. Once it locked on to it, it seemed rather agitated.
“This place seems rather peculiar,” said another voice from the back of the old man’s head. All of a sudden, the old man split into two people, one male and one female, but both old. They stood side by side as they looked at the sun, their eyes glowing.
“Looks like that fellow called Li Tianming is being guided by higher powers and knows that once he continues east, he’ll no longer be in the territory of us divine wonderians. It should take him another day to pass through,” said the old man.
“The question is whether a heliacal-class world can really cross the celestial boundary…. It needs to be skypiercer class at least!” said the crone.
“Since he decided to come here, he definitely has a trick for it. That world is at least a deific-class one, after all.”
“Since you know, have you notified the mysterians?”
“I don’t see a need. It isn’t like they’ll be able to catch up. While we have a pact with them, it wouldn’t hurt for us to scout this beautiful world and its decabane genius first, right?” The old man smiled.
“That’s right. Since we’re the only ones that can keep up with it, then it’s ours for the taking.”
The two of them smiled at each other.
“Let’s start, then.”
“Be careful. I heard that Blood Abyss was killed.”
“Blood Abyss? Can he even hold a candle to me?”
