Chapter 661: Chapter 655 Energy Crisis (Part 1)

“You can leave now.” The tasks of these simulated humans were completed, Finn Lewis gestured dismissively, dismissing them. Once they had left, Finn eyed the woman. Her beauty was undeniable, almost dangerously attractive.

“I have important matters to deal with next. I’ll leave you some money, so feel free to make your life here.” Finn proposed after some thought.

Upon hearing this, the woman, who seemed on edge standing there, quickly shook her head in terror, “I, I dare not. I want to… I want to stay with you, my lord.”

“My lord, she was captured from a primitive planet. She won’t be able to survive in the Capital Star region on her own. If she stays here, it’s likely she’ll be taken, and her fate thereafter would be desperate.” Dunn Monty, standing beside Finn Lewis, couldn’t help but intervene.

“Are you saying she, like me, is an indigenous inhabitant of a primitive planet?” Finn pointed at the woman, asking.

“Yes, my lord. She too carries human DNA. But, the unique environment of her homeworld seems to have mutated part of her genes. Nonetheless, she is no less physically robust — robust enough to be a qualified warrior. But within the Galactic Federation, she is viewed as an inhabitant of a primitive planet, a non-federated citizen. Anyone with a tiny bit of power can capture her and turn her into a slave.” Dunn Monty affirmed, a nod accompanying his words.

“Alright then.” Finn found himself with a growing distaste for the Galactic Federation. Despite its advanced technology, its systems were callous and cold, especially in their treatment of inhabitants from primitive planets, not to mention the horrifyingly cruel practice of exploiting life essences.

Even though the Federation had banned this practice, it still continued covertly across the entirety of the Heritage System. If not, from where else could the life essences used by the royal family, who ruled the Federation, come from?

Finn was unprepared for all this. Initially, he didn’t even know the woman’s name. But now, not only was she delivered to him, but she also seemed to have no objections, perhaps because she knew Finn was not the type of person she had reason to fear and hence was willing to accompany him.

Finn, however, found the woman mildly irritating. Her ethereal beauty and slender figure resembled the elves of Western fantasies, down to her pointed ears and exquisite features. It was beginning to dawn on Finn that many Earthly myths likely had their origins in the Galactic Federation.

Even though the Galactic Federation prohibited interference with primitive planets unless sanctioned by the owner of the star system, there were still many who lived covertly on Earth. Regardless of their reasons for hiding, they had to live, often unintentionally revealing unique ideas and concepts.

These ideas, during a time when information and science were not as advanced, became the stuff of legends and myths, passed down to this day. Whether it was Western or Eastern folklore, these remnants of ancient cultures suggested that all myths had an origin.

“What’s your name?” Finn asked, realizing he still did not know.

“My name is Yuka Young,” the woman promptly replied.

“Alright, Yuka. You can follow me for now.” Finn said, nodding. Regardless of any objections, Finn wouldn’t abandon her. Even leaving her with Jasmine Davis would likely be a more favorable solution. Jasmine might be a pirate, but Finn suspected she had more integrity than most of the nobles’ he had encountered.

“Yes, my lord,” Yuka quickly nodded, responding respectfully.

Having sorted things out with Yuka, Dunn Monty decided to send Finn to Redglow Star for maximum safety. After Dunn contacted the inspector’s office, they surprisingly seemed to be already aware of Finn’s situation and sent a battleship immediately with the intention to deliver him to Redglow Star. This was quite an unexpected boon.

Finn had just upset a man here. He didn’t even know who this man’s family was. Any trouble they could have created in the expanse of space was most definitely not something Finn wanted to deal with.

But with the intervention of the inspector’s office, no trouble arose for Finn. Soon, he arrived on Redglow Star. Named for its atmospheric hue, Redglow Star was clouded with a unique rare gas element. This gas was harmless to the human body but had some effect on those not native to the planet.

While these effects weren’t fatal, their lingering feeling could be negated with a special medication. The gas caused the atmosphere of the star to glow a gentle red under solar radiation. Much like how the sky appeared blue on Earth, the sky here had a reddish tinge, hence the name Redglow Star.

This left Finn contemplating briefly. Redglow Star was smaller than the Earth and had around 1.5 times the gravity. With his physically robust body, he had no problem coping with this. Though, he felt a bit uncomfortable.

Finn didn’t stay long on Redglow Star. After about half a day, a run-down small ship docked at the port. The ship was a trader vessel. But, aboard the ship, Finn found someone he didn’t anticipate to see, Jasmine Davis!

Truth be told, seeing Finn made Jasmine a bit uncomfortable. His imposing aura that day was overwhelming. And then, of course, was the formidable wealth he held, single-handedly suppressing the Yingsha and three other pirate groups.

But how much money would that take?

However, the first sentence he uttered upon seeing Jasmine dissipated much of her unease. “Oh, wow! You’re here in person! What an honor. I thought you’d just send someone over to get me.” Finn said, smiling.

Once Jasmine realized Finn wasn’t adopting a noble’s attitude, her unease vanished. She quickly retorted: “Oh, please. If I didn’t come to get you, I’d be worried about my crew bullying you. Then you’d come crying to me, and I don’t do babysitting, you know.”
