Chapter 658: Chapter 652: Individual Intelligence

“What about ‘Little Flower’?” Finn Lewis suggested after pondering for a while, sounding helpless.

“That name sounds horrible, and I don’t want to share a name with your previous personal intelligence!” The beauty within the intelligence system shook her head and protested adorably.

“Perhaps you could come up with a name?” Finn Lewis suggested, somewhat surprised. Before arriving, he’d already got his intelligence system, Olivia Thatcher, to look up the personal intelligence systems allotted to people.

Calling them ‘personal intelligence systems’ might be a bit of an overstatement for ordinary citizens and some common nobility. To be blunt, they are artificial intelligence systems. It’s as simple as that. They certainly wouldn’t include any fancy hardware.

One could only access these personal brains via the Starfield Network using other hardware. From the comments online, no one seemed to know what kind of personal brains the higher-ranking members of the royal family got. But the ones provided to the ordinary citizens were quite rigid.

In essence, they were repositories for artificial intelligence. There were other personal intelligence systems on the market that outperformed these in terms of that aspect, so many ordinary citizens would buy their own personal brains. They only used theirs allotted by the Starfield when they needed to verify their identities or interact with the Galactic Federation’s official data.

You could even assign the personal brain allocated to you by the Starfield to your purchased personal brain. With this setup, you could carry out some operations with your purchased personal brain, except in certain very strict departments where this kind of authorization is not allowed.

But for most people, they would probably not use these departments more than a few times in their lives. This was something that Finn Lewis observed. And now, not only did the personal brain assigned to him come with hardware, but its level of intelligence also surprised him—he felt it was almost on par with Olivia Thatcher and Little Qing.

“Alright, then I’ll choose my own name. How about Luna Starfield?” The beauty on the screen pondered and then spoke with a beaming smile, “How’s that, Your Highness?”

“Sure, let’s go with Luna Starfield.” Finn liked the name and didn’t have any objections. He quickly nodded in agreement. The bottom line was, anything could do as long as he didn’t have to name it. A name should be easy to remember and uncomplicated.

“Luna Starfield, am I allowed to purchase some things from the Federation now?” Finn tentatively asked.

“According to Your Highness’s privileges, there are quite a few things you are allowed to purchase. However, a sizable part of your privileges is still locked as you still haven’t completed your schooling at the Royal Political Academy and, thus, haven’t received your graduation certificate. That’s why those privileges haven’t been activated yet.” Luna Starfield immediately nodded and replied.

Although the beauty on the screen was virtual, her expressions and behavior seemed just as real. This surprised Finn a little, as the level of this allotted personal intelligence was quite high, indicating the Galactic Federation indeed had high-level artificial intelligence technology.

“Do I have to study at this academy?” Finn asked, feeling a bit annoyed. He had stopped attending school on Earth and was now being asked to study here.

“In principle, you are required to study there. Actually, the academy was initially established to provide a platform for interactions between the royal family and other nobles. Inheritance successors from various families would come here. Many students spend several years without graduating, and they’re not consistently present at the academy. The academy was simply a compromise between the nobility, the royal family, and the official organizations at the time of the Federation’s establishment.” Luna Starfield shrugged and explained.

Finn was a bit stunned. He looked at Luna Starfield on the screen, surprised by the high-level personal brain. Generally, an AI program wouldn’t display such characteristics, as a program is simply a program, even in the case of advanced personal intelligence systems.

In fact, even Olivia would not talk like Luna did. Although she could mimic human speech, she would not make clear logic-based analyses that are typical of human thinking—such deductions were unlikely to come from an AI.

The same was true for the simulation people Finn came across often.

“Is your intelligence level high?” Finn asked.

“I would say it’s extremely high, considering I’m the most advanced personal intelligence system.” Luna replied with a snap of her fingers.

“Is every royal family member assigned an intelligent system like you?” Finn thought for a while and then asked.

“Of course not. Only Your Highness, a member of the nine-star royal family, would be assigned a personal intelligence system of my level.” Luna shook her head.

Finn hadn’t expected such a surprise. Although it’s likely that the royals could manufacture even more advanced personal intelligence systems—and most probably wouldn’t use the personal intelligence system allotted by the Starfield—Finn was relieved to find some use for being a part of the nine-star royal family.

“It seems that being a member of the nine-star royal family has some advantages. I initially thought it sounded nice only in theory,” Finn spoke with a sigh of relief.

Luna hesitated for a moment before saying, “Actually, sir, those who say such things are fools, including those who carry the nine prominent royal family names. These families merely consist of eight-star nobles, many of whom don’t have the privileges you do. Hence they may not understand what it truly means to be a part of the nine-star royal family.”

“What does it mean?” Finn raised an eyebrow, surprised by this unexpected revelation.

“I’m afraid I can’t reveal everything, Your Highness, because you don’t yet have full access privilege.” Luna wore an apologetic look on her face and said sheepishly, “But you needn’t worry, Your Highness. You have high-level confidentiality rights. Certain information won’t leak out.”

“Alright then, how much do you know about me?” Finn was truly curious about Luna Starfield at this point. Her level of intelligence was considerably high. Finn had a feeling that she might even surpass Olivia Thatcher and Little Qing in intelligence. Apart from whether she could compare with Zero, Finn didn’t really know. Zero, to Finn, performed about as well as a mechanical computer program.

“Although the information I can gather is limited, I do have almost all the data on you since you entered the Federation’s jurisdiction. To them, you might seem to be from a primitive planet, but I know you are not entirely unfamiliar with the Galactic Federation,” Luna nodded as she explained.

“Well, tell me what I should do now. Honestly, I feel somewhat lost,” Finn decided to sit back and ask Luna.
